Overview

Eventyay-HubSpot was engineered as part of Google Summer of Code 2026 under FOSSASIA. It bridges Eventyay’s open-source ticketing and event management ecosystem with HubSpot CRM to automate inbound lead generation, attendee categorization, and organizer relationship workflows.

Architecture & Engineering Highlights

  • Bi-Directional Schema Mapping: Mapped disparate Django relational models (attendees, speakers, tickets, sessions) into normalized HubSpot Custom Objects and Contact properties.
  • Resilient Webhook Ingestion: Constructed idempotent webhook listeners with automatic retry buffers and exponential backoff to handle HubSpot API rate limits.
  • Batch Synchronization: Engineered bulk export and sync routines capable of synchronizing thousands of attendees per event with minimal database read pressure.
  • Enterprise-Grade Testing: Achieved comprehensive automated test coverage across Django test suites with mocked API interactions and error condition simulation.
